OMG recently brought to my attention a new site called "Born This Way". It's a slap in the face to the whole "nature vs. nurture" argument in regards to homosexuality. The website describes itself as,

"A photo/essay project for gay viewers (male and female) to submit pictures from their childhood (roughly ages 4 to 14), with snapshots that capture them, innocently, showing the beginnings of their innate gay selves. It's nature, not nurture!"

I think the pictures are hilarious. What good gay doesn't have some embarrassing photo showcasing their soon-to-be flame? Personally, the one I'm thinking about involved a feather boa, a crown, and a blue skirt... I wonder if they were inspired by Lady Gaga's new album of the same name? Have you heard the rumor that ABC is teaming up with Salma Hayek to do an eight-hour miniseries based off the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West? TVline reports,

"An insider stresses that it would be based on the novel and not the musical. As a result, this Wicked would be less of a prequel and more of a parallel story to The Wizard of Oz. (Universal, as you may know, is currently developing a Wicked film, and that would be based on the musical. ABC Studios will produce along with Hayek and Jose Tamez through the duo’s Ventanarosa Productions. The ex-Ugly Betty producer may also play a supporting role in the project, which is being penned by Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers)."

A Hollywood biopic centered around a gay character doesn't come without its fair share of obstacles. Take I Love You Philip Morris for example. Finding financial backing and distributors are usually the biggest hurdles, as well as creating a story line that has marketable appeal to the masses. Casting is also essential. That being said... why would you cast Mickey Rourke in a movie centered around the life of Gareth Thomas, a gay rugby legend?

What a let down. Gareth is hot as hell, and Mickey is the complete opposite. I only saw Brokeback Mountain because I wanted to see Jakey get pounded by Heath. If they had cast Tom Cruise and Nicolas Cage in those roles... you know it wouldn't have done as well. Also, I have a feeling Gareth's sexuality will be watered down in the movie. Yes, honey! Precious star, Gabourey Sidibe, was on hand at Brooklyn's Borough Hall for a World AIDS Day event. I love this bitch... and not just because she is a huge black woman. Whenever I hear her speak on talk shows or at events, I think she is funny as hell. Nothing like a big girl with a sense of humor. They have the key to my heart! Oh, Gabrielle Union was there too. However, there's only enough room for one Gabby when Sidibe is concerned... literally!

P.S. Since Precious was based off Sapphire's book, Push, is it wrong that every time I see Gabourey... I immediately start singing Corbin Bleu's song, "Push It To The Limit?" It's sooooooo ~~bad~~ good!

2011 Grammy Nominations

The 2011 Grammy nominations were revealed... and it's embarrassing. Eminem dominated the list of contenders with ten nods. Others scoring six or more nominations included Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and Lady Antebellum. While I think some nominations are well deserved, others just seem... odd? Katy Perry is up for 'Album of the Year'. Um, really? I'm also surprised that we're now awarding "artists" like the cast of Glee. Of course their songs are great, but I'd be pissed as hell if I was Paramore, Maroon 5, or Train who are all also up for 'Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals'. Another unusual nomination is Sade for 'Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocials'. I think she's got a great voice that transcended two decades, but since when is she a 'Duo or Group'? I'm probably missing something. However, I'm taking it personal this year because I don't see one mother fucking nomination for Christina Aguilera! She had the best unsuccessful album of the year! Quentin Tarantino's rescheduled Friars Club Roast was held last night in New York. Screw the bathhouses. This was the gay hot spot yesterday. I creamed myself when I found out Kathy Griffin, Kristin Chenoweth, and Eli Roth were all in the small room. If you throw in a DVD of Glitter, a Donna Summer CD, and some caramel sauce... this would my biggest fantasy. I get why Kathy and Eli were there, but what's Kristin's connection?
